AB Concept Luxury Design | Exclusive interview with well respected duo
Over the years, AB Concept have developed a range of projects in various locations all over the world, from Asia to Europe, including London, Milan, St. Jean Cap Ferrat and the Algarve.
AB Concept was founded in 1999 by Ed Ng and Terence Ngan, a designer and architect duo who together have throughout their career made a remarkable impact in the world of luxury design. The company has become a well-respected name in hospitality, wellness, F&B, commercial and residential properties.
Since AB Concept in Hong Kong ‘s foundation , the duo has built a strong career into an international design powerhouse. Renowned for their sensual, textured interiors, architectural use of space, and meticulous detailing, Ed and Terence draw on diverse cultural influences to create unique, narrative-driven interiors for some of the most beautiful hotels, restaurants, clubs, and homes in the world.
AB Concept have been responsible for both the architectural and interior design of internationally-renowned brands such as Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz Carlton, Rosewood, Waldorf Astoria, W Hotels and K11 Musea among others.
As well as interiors, AB Concept have developed bespoke design products including a capsule collection of couture rugs for Tai Ping and lighting for Czech manufacturer Lasvit.
AB Concept’s design philosophy is clear:
“Every project we create should be a legacy for our clients. We are selective and only commit to projects that we feel passionate about, those that evoke an emotional response or spark our collective imaginations. It starts with an overarching theme that serves as the foundation. From this basis grows a story and design concept, evolving into a strong narrative”.

AB Concept’s most recent projects include the famous Paper Moon Giardino restaurant in Milan as well as the Lalique flagship store in Shanghai, the first showroom of the brand commissioned to an outside firm.
With forest and the female form being the main sources of inspiration for Lalique’s glass creations, the façade features floor-to-ceiling marugame charcoal wood in a wave and striking black marble to portray the modern equivalent of an enchanting mythical forest.
The design for Paper Moon Giardino takes its inspiration from the area’s eclectic history and architecture to create an elegant and calming sanctuary within bustling Milan. Guests are invited to unwind at informal table settings in a casual and homey, yet elegant, setting.
