The interior decoration and design the result of Office AIO’s design project to give a new life to Bar Lotus in Shanghai.

Bar Lotus is located in the neighborhood of Jing’an in Shanghai, a place where there are many restaurants and bars to choose from. Initially, the establishment was to be a cocktail bar, but soon the idea came to incorporate that concept with a cafe in order for it to have daytime and nighttime activities.

At first, the entrance may not seem like much, but once inside the customer will go through a long arched hallway revested by white perforated steel panels. This allows some of the lights, smells and sounds from within the bar/cafe to pass through.

For the cafe interior, Office AIO opted for a grey-hued travertine floor complemented with beige leather seats and soft furnishings. The decoration is as minimalistic as possible during the day, however, the best part comes at night.

The bar’s emerald green walls and rose gold ceilings are the highlight features in the inside decoration. The designers themselves have admitted that the intention was to make the interior of the bar reflect the classy style of the cocktails that are served.

The cafe is repurposed at night for expansion of the space. In the center, there is a U shaped structure that effectively divides the room into two zones. Not to mention the illumination effect that sets in due to the ceiling reflecting the lights that come from below. In the center, there is a table made from Rossa Lavanto marble that helps set the effective contrast between the white walls and the noir inside the area.
