The good weather is here and so what better than go out?
Whether in East or West of Singapore, alone or with friends you can enjoy some bars that we recommend. You can go out in your singlet, shorts and slippers without the fear of being called “uncultured” These bars are cool, really easygoing and often with low prices.
Take a look!
Immigrants Gastrobar
Joo Chiat is the Peranakan region of Singapore and also the food haven of the East. Not only will you find plenty of cafes, there is also plenty of great hawker food at nearby Geylang. Immigrants Gastrobar = the food of Joo Chiat + drinks. Go there for great singaporean style tapas food, along with affordable drinks. The food there is mostly peranakan and the place also has great Peranakan décor and a chill out vibe. Here, you no longer need to choose between getting Asian fare and getting a drink.

Wawawa
Think there’s only jogging at Bedok Reservoir? Think again! Here at Wawawa, they provide a scenic view of the reservoir while enjoying western grub along with drinks. The food may not be fantastic and the drinks may not be cheaper as compared to the Town area. However, at least you get to save on the transport costs. Furthermore, it makes up for it with the great atmosphere as the place is outdoors and has no walls so you get to enjoy nature completely.

Sunset Bay Beach Bar
Staying in the Marine Parade area and looking to chill by the beach for the night? You can try Sunset Bay Beach Bar! It used to be at Palawan Beach in Sentosa for 12 years but has now shifted to East Coast to cater to the eastsiders. The food is said to be average but the ambience is highly praised! You may want to eat somewhere nearby such as the East Coast Lagoon Food Village first before heading down for a drink or two as you enjoy the sea breeze in your hair.

Bar Bar Black Sheep
With the name itself, Bar Bar Black Sheep has already won my heart. They serve Indian, Thai and Western food along with a selection of alcohol. The place has both indoor and outdoor areas furnished with sofas and is near the Botanic Gardens. Who can say no to that?

District 10 Bar Tapas Restaurant
Craving for a taste of Spain? Then this is the place for you. The District 10 Bar Tapas Restaurant is located conveniently at the Star Vista (right beside Buona Vista MRT) and serves up more than 35 tapas and pinchos on their menu. They also have cheap wines and beers to go along with their food. One will indeed feel spoilt for choices. The place has a relaxed vibe with indoor and outdoor seating and even a television. Come here in a big group so you can try out more tapas without going broke in one night.

The Great Beer Experiment
Are you a beer enthusiast and hate it when the bar staff ain’t able to answer your queries? Then you need to head on down to The Great Beer Experiment. Not only do they hold 150 types of beer, their staffs (beertenders) are extremely knowledgeable about the beers they hold. If you do not know much about beers, have no fear. They have split their beers into different sections for easy choosing. The place is pretty small and has only a few tables so many would prefer to go there for takeaway. As for food, they allow you to buy food from the other stores in Pasarbella and have it there. Although the place might still be a little out of the way without a car, the chill place and great beer makes up for it.

Wishing Well Bar & Bistro
When one first arrives here, they will be like: “it’s just a bistro.” However, don’t judge a book by its cover. The bar is hidden at the back of the restaurant with screen projections playing EPL matches, a pool table and even dart machines. The place serves up simple western fare at low prices at its bistro. Those that want to have a drink would go over to their bar behind. This bar has even more surprises. There is actually a legit wishing well here in the bar area and is a century old. Is it cool or is it cool? Whether you live in the neighbourhood or sincerely want to make a wish, go on down to have an enjoyable night.

Sara’s
Sara’s is mostly filled with regulars and has a pretty extensive list of drinks but food is not available. The bar is surrounded by great food places such as Habitat Coffee, Crust and some nice hawker food so we would suggest you eat somewhere nearby first. The place has both outdoor and indoor sitting. Sara’s even has a pool table inside for customers to play. The place may not be some hip, cool bar but its bursting with vibrancy and a sense of home for its customers especially those that stay nearby. If you want to unwind and have some fun all at the same time, Sara’s is the place to go.
